Octopus square print (on mount board)
A striking sea-life print by Cornwall based artist Ruth Proudfoot Smith. Set within a mountboard surround of 5cm width, this print celebrates the strange and elusive orange bloom octopus, native to the North Cornish coast. Ruth has depicted the distinctive colouring using plastic courier packaging and added white plastics to capture the tentacles. The sea-life themed print replicates the free machine-stitching technique which adds detail and a hand-drawn style to the image.
Art mounted using FSC paper supporting responsible forestry sources. This is from a limited edition of signed prints.

PRODUCT GUIDE:
All designs are individually made and hand printed, therefore may vary slightly from product to product. I source materials from my immediate locality here in the SouthWest, including using local professional printers and framers. These include handmade wood frames produced by Southgate Studios in Launceston.
The mount board surrounds of unframed prints are set using repurposed offcuts of materials from the framer at Southgate Studios.
My original artworks, framed and unframed prints are housed on FSC certified sustainable material. For packing, I aim to use 90% recycled and pre-used sources – as my business grows, so will my compostable boxing and wrapping.
